Who We Are

mërfōlk started simple: I've always loved making t-shirt designs—and loved it even more when my friends thought they were cool enough to actually wear. Somewhere along the way that turned into this. Clothes for people who feel the pull of the coast like I do. Worn-in, a little vintage, the kind of thing that drops your shoulders and puts you right back on the coast the second you pull it on.

The photo you'll see around the site—the one that looks like it's from another era—is my dad, 1962, on shore leave during his Navy days. I keep coming back to it. Same draw to the water, decades earlier. Turns out the call to the coast isn't new, and it isn't just mine.

That pull is what brought my family and me to California's Central Coast. We didn't just end up here—we were called to the coast.

So that's mërfōlk. Mer for the sea, folk for the people. For anyone who feels most like themselves with salt in the air and the sound of the surf nearby. Called to the coast. (Also, mermaids look cool.)
